Lady Gaga finally brought her Mayhem Ball Tour to Miami for two days before abruptly canceling her latest performance due to a serious health issue. Mother Monster took to her Instagram Stories to break the news to fans, reassuring them that she’ll postpone the originally scheduled September 3 show for a later date.

“I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you but I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage on my vocal cords,” she wrote, in part. “There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours and as you know I sing live every night — and even though this was a hard and agonizing decision I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice.”

According to the “Poker Face” hitmaker, her “voice was extremely strained” during rehearsal on Tuesday, September 2, and her vocal warmup on the day of her final Miami show. She revealed that doctors and her vocal coach instructed her to rest and preserve her voice “because of the risk it poses” to her long-term health.

“I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment, let down, [and] inconvenience. I am so so sorry I tried so hard to avoid this I take serious care of myself to be able to put on this highly demanding show,” she added before closing her message with, “I love my fans so much, respect you and hope you can accept my sincere regretful apology. We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible.”

The news comes after Gaga made an appearance at Netflix and Spotify’s Graveyard Gala on August 28 in New York City to promote her new single, “The Dead Dance,” which was released on September 3 in tandem with the second part of Wednesday season 2. The “Abracadabra” singer posed alongside her co-stars, Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, and Joy Sunday, at the coveted event in between tour dates.

She returned to the stage for two concerts in Miami on August 31 and September 1, before canceling her final performance in the city. It’s unclear whether she will still be performing at her upcoming hometown shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
